JVF Panthers MS Club program to hold tryouts June 27th at CFC Park

Bethany -- The James Vick Foundation is pleased to share that the JVF Panthers are now a middle school field hockey team for girls in 7th and 8th grade.

Given the lack of town field hockey programs in Connecticut, there is a glaring need for middle school field hockey programming in our community. So many field hockey players out there do not pick up a stick until they are in 9th grade, let alone on a competitive level, and not all of us can keep up with the rigors of the traditional club fee schedule.

In an attempt to address not only this gap, but the continuning inequity in the sport of Field Hockey, we have transitioned our Panthers team to a school age ball club, and have begun the process of building the team, the first free middle school club team in Connecitcut Field Hockey history.

The program currently has a wonderful group of girls on the roster, and would like to add some more teammates as we build the program

The team will play in a tournament this summer on July 19th, practice, as well as attend a tournament in the fall.

The JVF Panthers will be hosting an open tryout for rising 7th graders, and 8th graders, on June 27th, 5:30pm, at CFC Park in Bethany Connecticut.

If selected, uniforms, field time, coaching, tournaments, and support will be included in the package.

The James Vick Foundation is a 501c(3) national nonprofit based in New Haven Connecticut, our programming, our services, are free of charge to the families, and intended to promote exercise, friendship, and fun. You can support our mission right here!
